Important Notice for Argus AAD Owners
« on: July 15, 2010, 09:35:24 am »
 - Reposted from USPA Update -

On June 30, the Technical and Safety Committee of the International Parachuting Commission (IPC) released an Information Notice sent by the French Parachute Federation regarding the need for a cutter replacement for AVIACOM’s Argus automatic activation devices manufactured from January 2007 through October 2007. The affected cutters are marked with Jan 2007 to identify the batch. All Argus AAD owners should check the manufacturing dates of their AADs to determine if the cutter should be replaced.
The French Parachute Federation sent the notice to the IPC following a fatality in Poland in which the AAD had activated but the cutter apparently did not completely sever the closing loop of the reserve container. Contact information for AVIACOM is available at http://argus-aad.com/.
